Eat, Drink And Be Merry

Where to even start?! There are literally thousands of pubs, cafes, bars, hotels and restaurants that I could tell you about! I’ve tried my hardest to cut it down and I’ve managed to get it to 15! Impressive, I know! And I think I’ve covered almost everything – bakeries, cafes, rooftop bars, country pubs and amazing restaurants. Time to put on your comfy yoga pants, this could get messy!

Home – Belfast

A restaurant AND a deli in one place?! Hello! This place may have started life as a pop-up but I’m so glad they made it permanent! Try the herb roasted chicken with porcini arancini, wild mushroom cream and tenderstem broccoli!

The Swan – Radcot

This place may be a little hidden, but the Sunday Roasts are to-die-for! And who doesn’t love a Sunday afternoon watching the world go by on the river?! Try the Roast Beef with everything!

The Akash, Southsea

Rob and I discovered this place almost entirely by accident one evening when we lived in Southsea. It may have been a cold walk to get there but worth it every time! I’ve never had a naan so good!

Hummingbird Bakery – London

You can find these guys and their amazing cakes all over London – though I personally have a soft spot for their Notting Hill bakery! I can never say no to their carrot cake – or their Gingerbread cupcakes during winter!

Moulin Hotel/Inn/Brewery – Scottish Lowlands

This place has been around since before the Jacobite Rebellion so it’s fair to say there’s a fair amount of history here. That doesn’t mean the food and drink is stuck in the Dark Ages though! Try the duck fillet – oh my!

Malmaison – Oxford

When a restaurant is in the cellar of a former prison built inside a medieval castle, you know it’s going to be good! And it’s not far to drag yourself to bed in one of the old cells! The Champagne Afternoon Tea is unbelievably good!

Coffee Architects – Royal Leamington Spa

The best coffee shop is Leamington? Well I can’t vouch for the coffee but the hot chocolate is like a giant hug and I can’t walk past their billy can house beans!

Rumpus Room – South Bank

Because why the heck wouldn’t you want to sit back and relax whilst looking at one of the best views in the world?! Grab two glasses of Perrier-Jouet Grand Brut, order the charcuterie plate, sit back and drink in the view!

The Kitchin – Edinburgh

If you love Tom Kitchin as much as I do, this place is a must! Have the partridge – or the chef’s special!

The MaE Deli – London

Anything touched by Ella of Deliciously Ella is bound to be mouth-watering and this place is no exception! The porridge with topped with apple & berry compote, MaE granola and coconut chips on a cold morning is heaven in a bowl!

Betty’s – Harrogate

These guys are Yorkshire legends and for good reason! I love their Harrogate branch (above) and adore the Florentine Rosti. I haven’t had them but I hear the Yorkshire sausages are out-of-this-world good!

Honey Café – Bronllys

If you’re anywhere in mid-Wales, make sure you stop at this place. It’s in the heart of the Black Mountains so the view of the Brecons is amazing and I have a soft spot for their cakes and Rob can’t go past the All-Day Breakfast! We visit every time we’re anywhere nearby!

The Leatherne Bottel – South Stoke

Don’t let the windy road down the hill but you off – it’s totally worth it! I love the Caprese salad and the gnocchi with prawns!

Hip Chips – Soho

I haven’t been here yet but you can bet it’s on my hit list! I’m drooling just thinking about the cheese fondue dip!

The Red Lion Inn – Alnmouth

This place is about as out of the way as you can get but so worth it! Get the roast lamb and follow it up with the cheese platter and walk along the beach!

Do you have a favourite place to grab coffee, a bakery you have to tear yourself away from or a restaurant you always keep going back to? I’d love to hear about them!

Love,

Annéka xo
